Handwoven 100% Wool Blankets

All of our blankets are handwoven by us at Myrrhwood Farm. All of the yarn used in the blankets is handspun by Beth and is hand dyed or simply in its natural color. All of the wool comes from the fleece of our sheep, and all blankets measure 36x60 unless noted. Each blanket is one of a kind and no pattern is ever the same, which ensures you a completely original piece that you will want to proudly display. All blankets should be dry cleaned to prevent shrinkage.

This blanket reminds us of a desert southwest. Having lived in a high plains desert for 10 years weas well as in the Black Hills of South Dakota the plains Indian culture is something we are very found of I patterned this blanket after the pyrimid designs of the Pueblo. It is made of 100% Icelandic hancspun yarn we used bright saphire blue and crimson along with the natural black and grays of the Icelandic. The blanket measures 29x44 and will keep you warm on the coldest of winter nights.
About Our Sheep
Fiber and Fleece

The beautiful blanket pictured at left is made from 100% handspun Border Leicester wool and all the wool was hand dyed by my wife in beautiful jewel tones of saphire blue and crimson red. I also used the natural silver gray and white of the Border Leicester to enhance the colors. The blanket measures 36x62 and has a 4 inch fringe. I purposely used a very open weave to add to the softness and to add drape to the blanket without looseing the warmth.

These two blankets are completely hand made both are made from fine hand spun Border Leicester wool yarn. The weft was hand spun by us here at Myrrhwood Farm from the fleece of our Border Leicester sheep. The yarn was spun at approximately 900 yards per pound and was dyed by us in either a rich Teal green or a strikingly beautiful jet black. The warp is 100% wool and was dyed by us in brilliant red, blue, green, yellow and black. The weave is a modified twill pattern which brings out the brightness of the warp. Both of the blankets measure a full 36x60 with a 3 inch fringe. Both were woven on our antique Leclerc floor loom. We are sure either one of these blankets will bring a warmth and comfort to any room in your home.
